The Ice Wall

I saw Canaan twenty steps away
I ran towards it and bumped on an object;
There lies an ice wall between.
Voices come with the wind that says
The wall would take another year to melt!

The Israelites were stiff-necked people
Ungrateful of love, instead they complain;
Ethereal wonders does not make them blink
In God's absence, they turned to idols.
A journey of days stretched to decades!

We are no better than them
Narcissism and partition won't take us far;
I'm afraid the road will take us to a desert
But I'd rather die than go back to Egypt.
A land flowing with milk and honey awaits!

We decide how long the journey will take.
Just as how grasses dance at the will of the wind,
Let us dance to the will of the Lord;
The ice wall will hence be melted
And we shall conquer Canaan!
