Unchecked rise of the Meitei Terrorists

After severely injuring a Major ranked officer of the Assam Rifles and killing one Kuki civilian while attacking the Kuki town of Pallen on 8th September, the Meitei terrorists have gone on an attacking spree by killing 3 Kuki civilians in Kangpokpi district on 12th September, and 01 Kuki Sub Inspector of the Manipur Police in Churachandpur District on 13th September 2023.

Various media outlets, including The Hindu, India Today, The Caravan, The Print, Scroll etc. have highlighted the resurgence of the Meitei terrorist groups such as UNLF, PLA, KYKL, KCP and PREPAK, which are banned by the Govt of India (under UAPA list). These terror groups are reported to be mingling with the Meitei crowds, and are actively supported by the Meira Paibis, whenever the Meitei crowds attack Kuki Villages or hinder the movement of Indian security forces, whenever the forces rush to nab the Meitei terrorists.

The role of the biased Meira Paibis in instigating the Meiteis to attack the Kukis, and in shielding the Meitei Terrorists, have become so notorious that the Frontline fortnightly has termed them "Agents Provocateur".

Prime example of the role of the Agents Provocateur Meira Paibis in working against the sovereignty of India, and in helping the Meitei terrorists, is forcing the Indian Army and Assam Rifles to release 12 members of KYKL in East Imphal including self-styled 'Lt Colonel' Moirangthem Tamba alias Uttam, on June 2023 who were nabbed by the security forces after a long struggle.

It is very disturbing to note that Uttam was one of the masterminds of the ambush on 6 Dogra Regiment in 2015 that left 18 army soldiers dead. Despite this fact the whereabouts of Meitei terrorists Uttam and his fellow 11 Meitei terrorists is not known, and it is suspected that they may be intermingling with the Meitei police commandos and attacking the Kuki villages. It is also suspected that Retd. Colonel Nectar, SSP (Combat), may have been appointed exactly for the reason that he has a very good relationship with the Meitei terrorists, and that he could act as the point-man who gives instructions to the Meitei terrorists for any kind of attack on the Kuki people.
The Meitei terrorists are not only protected by the Agents Provocateur Meira Paibis, but also have the blessings of the Meitei Politicians. The Print has reported that, "KYKL commanders Thoudam Thoiba and S Mangal are protected by powerful local politicians" (Meitei Politicians).

It appears that the Meitei Politicians, the agent provocateur Meira Paibis, and the Meitei police have been openly supporting the Meitei Terrorists in attacking the Kuki people, and providing a safe haven to kill the innocent Kuki people and the Kuki Policeman.

It is a high time that the Hon'ble Prime Minister of India and the Union Home Ministry understand the gravity of the situation, and rein in the Meitei terrorists before they become uncontrollable, and again resorted to killing the Indian Army personnel and their Colonel as they have done without any impunity in 2015 and in 2021; and that helping the Kuki people in protecting them against the Meitei Terrorists is in the interest of the unity and integrity of India.
