A BITTER EPOCH

Three-sixty-six days of agony Fifty-two weeks plus of suffering For the terror struck down many While Humanity loses its meaning.

Martyrs laid some yet unrest As fellow Bravehearts still unlaid Taking the bullets in their chest For loving their land a price paid.

Manned the frontier environs men Valiant and gallant against villains To the potent Almighty knelt women While bullets rain from the plains.

Wail the relief centres they cry Home and pals the minors long Eyes damped and tears yet to dry Awaiting to sing the Freedom song.
