I sit here, pondering:
How even in the middle of a war,
We struggle to find ourselves
A common denominator.
Shouldn’t roots bring us forth together?
Shouldn’t the blood of the martyrs,
The sweat and tears of our brothers
Be strong enough to be the common denominator?
I sit here, land and soil of Moreh Zalengam,
Pondering our breakable unity, thin as thread.
If our common identity fails to unite us,
Maybe then the common enemy should, right?
I long for extremists to find a middle ground,
I long for peace which liberates us,
I long to dwell with my brethren in peace,
I long for Zalengam
