In the heartland of Manipur, where shadows fell;
A chapter of sorrows, a tragic to tell.
Kuki and Meitei, once brethren now torn;
In the ethnic violence’s fury, many lost and forlorn.
Lost souls of Kuki-Zo volunteers, brave and true;
In the midst of ethnic riot, they paid their due.
Their dreams shattered, hopes turned to dust;
In the chaos of civil war, in a land unjust.
Through the misty mountains and winding streams;
They fought for their people, in pursuit of dreams.
But as the cannons roared and the bullets flew;
They found themselves trapped, but their spirit held high.
In the darkness of night, on the foothills;
The lost souls of our volunteers silently cried.
For peace and unity, they had once yearned.
But the fires of war, in their hearts burned.
Their sacrifices, their courage, we must remember.
In a land of diversity, let’s rekindle the ember.
For in unity and harmony, their spirits shall thrive.
The lost souls of our vanguard, in peace shall survive.
Let their stories be told, let their memory stand;
As a testament to the strength of the human hand.
May the wounds and sufferings of the past find healings.
In a future where peace and love are steadfast.
