I like walking under the rain,
For nobody has seen my tears.
Though I wept bitterly for my people,
I wept not loud enough to be heard,
But soft enough to be seen!
I stumbled, as tears blurred my view.
Many walked around me, under the rain,
Sheltering themselves with beautiful umbrellas.
Some offered me to walk with them,
Others offered me a place under their umbrellas,
But I chose to walk alone by myself,
For I wanted to cry freely for my people!
Some thoughts that I was out of my mind,
Others felt that I enjoyed the rain showers.
But, I am not so mad as to forget who I am,
Nor so proud as to ignore my people's tears!
For I am who I am, and my tears are true!
And walking under the rain makes me happy!
