His is no more his jhum attire;
Weapons in hand in place of tools
At the doorway, for the last time…
he bids adieu to his loved ones
Abandoned by those with wealth and power,
Not for lack of anything but out of sheer love,
That, in the land of his forefathers, his own descendants…
could bloom again, today he set out to fight.
Upon the hills and along the vales,
Echoing cries of those long gone call out to us
I love the most - this land of my birth
No treasure on earth will I trade for -- my hilly abode
For the nation to be of one mind,
How many bravehearts shall fall at the enemy's hand?
How many daughters shall be dragged naked?
This land bought by the blood of our forefathers;
o safeguard it, brave warriors…
fighting hunger and thirst in the jungles;
While protecting us, willing to bleed,
Should we be fighting over names and banners?
No… With one mind, let us march forward!
the enemy has closed in on us!
My brethren who've gone before, do not despair…
With armours and arms, we follow behind you
Supreme God, aid us so that our dreams are realised.
May the rays of freedom dawn…
May the multitude dance with joy…___________________________________________________________________________________________________
