In the heart of erstwhile Manipur, where the valleys sigh,
The indigenous Kukis wander beneath a troubled sky.
For they’ve been torn apart from Imphal's embrace,
Carrying burdens that weigh on the heart.
Once lively streets, filled with “Chingmi Tammi”
Now memories linger where that brutality actually belong.
Fields the majority Meiteis cherished the hills they knew,
Are now replaced by shadows, as hilly dreams withdrew.
Yet, amidst the sorrow, a spark remains,
A spark of hilly dream unbroken by the Kuki-Naga chains.
Every tear tells a story of grace,
Of holding onto love in a harsh, cold place.
Bound by history and roots that run deep,
Their courage awakens, refusing to sleep.
Through whispers of the past, they find their way,
Dreaming of brighter and peaceful days.
In every heart, a flicker of light,
Guiding them through the longest night.
Together they stand, hands intertwined,
In unity and hope, a future they'll find.
May the Kuki-Naga journey inspire,
As we seek solace and reclaim our lost homes.
For in our resilience, a lesson lies,
Of enduring hope beneath changing skies.
